Slope of Line Calculator

How to Use:

  • Enter two points (x₁, y₁) & (x₂, y₂) to find the slope.
  • If you know the angle of inclination, enter it.
  • If you have a y-intercept (b), enter it to find the slope.
  • Formula:Formula:
    • Standard: m=y2y1x2x1m = \frac{y_2 - y_1}{x_2 - x_1}
    • Angle: m=tan(θ)m = \tan(\theta)
    • Intercept: y=mx+by = mx + b
    • Perpendicular Slope: m=1mm' = -\frac{1}{m}
  • If x₁ = x₂, the slope is undefined (vertical line).
  • Perpendicular slope is negative reciprocal of the given slope.
